Climate Activator
Clyde -Vera - Himalaya - Ranger - Lukas - Merula
We chose these 6 models because these shoes represent an important part of our range. With the insights gained, we are in a better position to determine ways to reduce our footprint for the entire range. These shoes are Climate Activator certified and with this we explicitly commit to further reducing our carbon emissions and combating climate change. The activities required for this reduction are included in a 2030 reduction plan.
What does this "Climate Activator" certification mean?
In line with the Climate Activator Standard, we have set a target to emit 25% less CO2eq by 2030 than in the reference year 2016. The good news is that we have already achieved this goal by 2022. We have certified 6 of our models as Climate Activator within the agreed limits of the sources of greenhouse gas emissions of these products from cradle to shelf.
Of course, we continue to reduce our CO2eq emissions, focusing mainly on our material use. The emissions we cannot yet reduce, we offset through the Golden Standard Golden Standard offsets of Climate Activator's Renewable Energy Mix project. For more information, visit www.climateactivator.org
Reductionplan 2030
In collaboration with the Climate Activator, EMMA determined emissions reduction targets for 2030. Between 2016 and 2030, we will realize an annual reduction of at least 1.8% (proportional reduction of scope 1 and scope 2 and own accountable emission in scope 3).
More information about our ambitions, targets and about the measures we (are planning to) take to achieve the targets, can be found in this “Climate Policy Document”.
The Climate Activator certificate (valid up and until December 30th 2024) can be found here.
