Emma Safety Footwear wins Rabo Economy Award
30 November 2015It was the twelfth time the Rabo Economy Award, the competition for entrepreneurs in Dutch Limburg, was presented. Amongst the previous winners are DSM, Vebego, Pinkpop and Snowworld.
Emma Safety Footwear, market leader in safety shoes with branches in Brunssum (production) and Bunde (sales/distribution), won the Award for its successful contribution to the economic situation in Parkstad Limburg (population 255,000). The jury praised Emma for its excellent innovativeness and the leading role it plays in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Award was accepted by Tom Hermans, CEO of Emma Safety Footwear. Beaming: "This Award is not only a significant achievement for our 140 employees, but also for our clients. After all, our customer relationships are based on partnership."
Emma Safety Footwear was one of the three nominees who made it through to the finals of the Rabo Economy Award. Frank Hamstra, Emma’s CFO: "During several evaluation rounds our management and entrepreneurial vision were heavily tested." With the Award also comes a trophy. Tom Hermans: "This is definitely getting a place of honour in our company!"
