LEADING BELGIAN QUARRY CHOOSES EMMA

Reliability, safety, security. These three values have been at the heart of ‘Les Carrières de la Pierre Bleue Belge NV’ ever since it was founded. The group encompasses three quarries in Belgium that rank among the world's best in terms of quarrying, sawing and dressing blue limestone in Europe. At La Pierre Bleue Belge (Blue Stone) 'safety first' is the watchword. That is part of the reason why the employees of La Pierre Bleue (250 FTE) wear safety shoes by Emma, says Marc Borremans, executive assistant at La Pierre Bleue and also in charge of safety: “We are very happy with Emma shoes. They considerably limit the risk of accidents.”

Anyone who works at a quarry needs to remain vigilant at all times. One thing the employees don't have to worry about is their footwear. Marc Borremans: “Emma is the safest shoe out there, no other brand can live up to it.” Emma footwear also looks the part and its design is young and fresh. But the safety aspect remains the most important one, feels Marc Borremans. "It is our duty as a company to do our utmost to prevent accidents at work. Using Emma Safety Footwear is one of our preventative measures", he stresses.

‘La Pierre Bleue' is active in Belgium at three different locations in the (Walloon) region of Soignies. With an annual production of more than 50,000 m3 blocks of Belgian Blue Stone (Petit Granit), the company has a yearly turnover of roughly 24 million Euros and offers work to approximately 250 employees. Belgian Blue Stone is used in dozens of prestigious buildings throughout Europe, for instance in the office buildings at the Stationsplein in Maastricht. Belgian Blue Stone adds a special touch, Marc Borremans claims. “Just like Emma Footwear…”
